PRIVATE MEDITATION RETREATS

Better Results With brainwave Based Coaching

It is finally possible to test what kind of mediation style is best for you and then watch your brain as you meditate to achieve a deeper state.

Most people want to know not only how to practice meditation, but also are they doing it correctly. Through the use of advanced neurofeedback and brain mapping technology we can now answer those questions. NeuroMeditation can save you years of sitting on a cushion struggling in your practice. It can also take the advanced meditator to a new depth in their practice.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Meditation Retreats help you identify which meditation style is best for you, and then assists you in getting to a deeper state. You can book 1-3 days for your retreat. Each day runs from 10am until 4pm with a one-hour lunch break.

The retreat starts with a discussion of your goals and past experience with meditation. Then, we will conduct a Brain Map to figure out which style of meditation will be most beneficial to you. Once we know the style, I can create a custom NeuroMeditation protocol for you and monitor your brain using neurofeedback to notify you when your mind wanders. This helps you achieve a much deeper meditation state because you get instant feedback about your progress.

The rest of the retreat is devoted to practice. We will also take yoga or stretch breaks as needed and I can introduce you to other strategies to help you deepen your practice as seems neccessary.

"I can’t say enough about Dr. Helfand. Every morning, I’d wonder how I could possibly get through another day. I was cranky. Ask my husband. Since working with you, I have seen such amazing improvement, and I even finished writing two novels! Dr. Helfand is kind and approachable, entirely professional, but with a ready sense of humor. I highly recommend this practice to anyone who wants to reclaim lost parts of themselves, or who just wants to be their best possible self. It’s amazing getting up every day and looking forward to life!"

Before I saw you, I could barely leave my room, but now my life is completely different and I’m able to do pretty much anything I want to. I just wanted to thank you again for all the awesome help you gave me that I continue to use every day!”

BENEFITS OF MEDITATION

The purpose of meditation is to train your brain to become aware, develop perspective, and often become calm and relaxed. Working on those goals creates many other benefits including those listed below.

MENTAL CLARITY

Lift that brain fog and reach your full potential.

It probably would not surprise you that practicing focusing your mind will help improve mental clarity. However, it is not just concentration that tends to improve with meditation. People often report feeling like a fog has been lifted from their brain and they can literally see and think more clearly. It is as if there is a new perspective gained about one’s life and performance. With continued practice, this experience can be honed and used to significantly improve performance and create a general positive mood throughout the day.

PERSPECTIVE

Experience the world and yourself in a new way.

As you watch your thoughts, sensations, emotions, it inevitably leads to better self awareness. This increase in awareness can help you gain insights in not only your own inner workings, but also how other people and our society in general operate. Having a greater understanding can lead to many benefits including creative thoughts, inspiration, empathy, and more meaning and fulfillment in life.

MORE COMPASSION

Feel a deeper connection with yourself and others.

Certain styles of meditation focus on increasing love and compassion for the practitioner and others in the world. Imagine a world with more kindness and compassion. Imagine yourself being more understanding, patient, tolerant, and kind. Picture what your life would be like with this experience and how your relationships would change if those around you felt the same way. That image can be a reality with practice.

BETTER SLEEP

Wake up feeling rested and restored.

Learning how to calm a chatty mind has far reaching benefits, and one of the most significant is to help people achieve deeper and more restful sleep. Poor sleep has been linked to the development of Alzheimers and dementia along with a variety of other mental and physical issues. Good sleep in fact also boost immune function. Sleep is the foundation for which all other functions rest. If the foundation is not strong, danger is imminent.
